Equipment

  • Large stock pot
  • Medium saucepan
  • Measuring cups + spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium pasta (penne, rotini, etc.)
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 ½ cups Parmesan shredded
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • In a large stock pot, boil 4 cups water.
  • Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 7-9 minutes.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic, heavy cream and pepper.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil; then reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add the cheese, stirring constantly until the cheese has fully melted. Turn the heat to low. Taste and season with salt as desired. Sauce will thicken upon standing.
  • Serve sauce over cooked pasta.
